Description
This file features polylines representing the major trails in the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) system. It is not comprehensive of all trails thoughout the system. Other minor and rogue trails do exist and are not represented here. Data were created by PPR staff using historic information from the Fairmount Park Commission and Department of Recreation data archives. The data was primarily sourced using GPS technology. In certain cases data were created through orthophotography, georeferenced civil plans, and hard copy maps. Trail data is updated on a regular basis to indicate new trails, closed trails, and trails undergoing restoration or expansion.
