ProgressPHL Social Progress Index Explorer
The ProgressPHL web application enables you to explore social and environmental wellbeing and compare Social Progress Index (SPI) data at the Census Tract level. ProgressPHL is a joint effort by the Office of the Controller and the nonprofit Social Progress Imperative. The Philadelphia SPI tracks progress across three categories: Basic Human Needs, Foundations of Wellbeing, and Opportunity. The data for the SPI is derived from census variables from the 2015-2019 American Community Survey (ACS) and other non-Census data from 2020.
